Ecology

The structure, chemistry, and feel of an environment will influence how people relate to themselves, each other, and the environment itself. The culture and the texture of every city is distinct, so much so that people will sometimes identify as a resident of the place. The environment inspires people to make art and architecture, the culture and feel of which can be described by movements and eras. The craftsman bungalow next to the modern mixed use commercial/residential apartment building of concrete and glass tell different stories.

While our story does not begin in the womb, we often start the first chapter there. The space and time in which pregnancy exists, the relation of the characters and the effect they have on the home they inhabit together - this is, in essence, an ecological tale.

A cosmic event contained in utero unfolds into a biological being. The structure, chemistry, and feel of this environment has a profound effect on all parties.

One of the threads that weave this ecological fabric is the tone and tension of the maternal nervous system. The energetic expenditure of regulating a body in external environment is exponentially increased when there is a body within a body, pulling from the same resource pool. For this obvious reason (and many others), anything that can support the natural reduction of biomechanic, neurologic, and energetic stress on the maternal nervous system will be beneficial for all.

Supporting the process of life as it unfolds for all ages and during all stages is the essence of chiropractic. For more information about the role of chiropractic in pregnancy and pediatrics, please check out our resource page.
